Location: North of England, South of England, Midlands
Salary: £24k - £25k per annum

The Role
We are currently looking for New Works Engineers to join NRTS (National Road Transport Service) team. Roles are available in the North of England, South of England and the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires a wide range of tasks to be carried out, which will be key to overall project completion as instructed by the National Projects Manager, e.g. cable preparation, equipment installation, commissioning and testing. Good engineering knowledge of motorway communications technology is required and must be current. Can install new technologies on the HA network into active service through installation and commissioning of assets.
You will find solutions during installation and commissioning activities. The role would normally require switching of tasks on an hourly or daily basis. Extreme accuracy of physical work and test data recording is required on a continual basis. Projects are managed to a strict timeline so more than normal time constraints occur frequently.
Within the role all engineering tasks are fully determined by strict procedures and guidelines however individuals are empowered for problem solving and associated decision making when required and escalate outcome where necessary.
Supervision/management is on a daily / weekly basis dependant on project activities and is given by the immediate line manager, not always co-located.
You will work in a safety critical environment and requires ability and authority to stop any unsafe work activities. You should have the knowledge and authority to suspend work which presents a risk to the network services.
