Ex Military Personnel

learndirect’s experience in providing learning solutions has been brought together in partnership with ForceSelect to support business staff development.

We can now provide both the talent and the technology based training and mentoring shaped around your company's specific needs, improving your skill base and productivity.

learndirect has worked with 75,000 employers in recruitment and skills development, equipping their workforces with qualifications, courses and apprenticeships.

A wide range of training opportunities are available for ForceSelect candidates including Apprenticeships at Levels 2 and 3 in:
•    IT skills
•    Maths and English
•    Management
•    Job skills (CV writing & interview techniques and preparation).
•    Communication in the civilian workplace
•    Financial management

A major sector of those leaving the Forces are those aged 21 or below and an Apprenticeship is an ideal way for them to get into work and learn new skills right from day one.  The partnership seeks to encourage the uptake of Early Service Leavers as apprentices.

Hugh Andree, founder of ForceSelect, said: “The partnership with Learndirect will allow us to provide credible and recognised training services both to service leavers and employers across the UK. Employers recognise that service leavers and veterans have values and skills that are in great demand. Through the provision of relevant training and qualifications, that employers have an on-going need for, the service leaver will be able to look forward to a successful second career.”

Sarah Jones, Chief Executive of learndirect, said: “This is a really exciting new partnership for us. We know it can be hard for some people leaving the Armed Forces to readjust to civilian life, whether they are at junior or officer level.

“Working with ForceSelect we will be able to help people understand their options and give them access to a wide range of learning to improve their skills – anything from basic maths or English through to longer Apprenticeships where they can develop a new trade.

“We know the skills and experience of Armed Forces personnel can bring a new dimension to business and, with this partnership, we will be able to take that message to employers across the UK.”
