Job Title: Street Lighting MEWPS Operative

Location: Haringey, London

Salary: Up to £150 per day dependent on experience.

Our client has built their business around the needs of their clients and offer a complete full-service solution for surfacing, highway maintenance, road marking, traffic management, street lighting and infrastructure projects.

Our client's in-house capability, resources and processes are set-up to deliver a full-service offering, whilst being flexible and responsive to manage programme amendments and ad hoc additional works requests.

Our client's work is mainly based in London, Essex, Cambridgeshire and the South East and they deliver pioneering trials and rollouts for large programmes, multi-phased schemes and one-off projects for public realm, regeneration and infrastructure work

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• To support the growth of our Street Lighting Business over various contracts.
• Carrying out various tasks within the titled role ensuring that all H&S objectives and responsibilities are adhered to.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• The installation, repair and maintenance of lighting brackets, lanterns, overhead cables, bollards, and signs.
• The changing of lamps, lamp holders, covers, electric cells, fuses, capacitors, switches etc.
• Management of basic on-site risk assessments.
• Being responsible for site traffic management.
• Being responsible for company equipment and vehicles.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Technically competent with experience working within street lighting (see requirements below)
• Comfortable working within a team as well as working alone and to tight deadlines.
• Ability to read maps and a good level of written and numerical skills.
• Demonstrable ability to learn new processes quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail & self-motivated.
• Able to demonstrate technical knowledge and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of fault repair.
• Full training will be provided to allow the successful candidate to develop into the role.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Street Lighting experience
• NRSWA operative
• Full clean UK Driving Licence
• IPAF 1b
• Electrical knowledge
• An understanding of Sign Lighting and Guarding.
• ECS Health and Safety Assessment
• First Aid Training.
• Manual Handling Training.
• G39 Training.
• 302.1 or 302.2.
• Power Tools training.
