Operations & Maintenance Engineer
Location: Castleford, Leeds
Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 plus company vehicle and fuel card

The Role
We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our client's Castleford team as an Operations and Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Senior Engineer.
The purpose of this role is to carry out maintenance duties on the Highways Agency motorway telecommunications network, which at times will also require equipment installation works associated with either the roadside legacy infrastructure or the Alcatel core network. You will be responsible for ensuring established and potentially new customer relationships are maintained and developed and assist in managing third party subcontractors engaged in O & M activities.
As an Operations and Maintenance Engineer, you will also liaise with the Lead Engineer, other Company and GeneSYS teams in planning and programming work and assist other colleagues in achieving their tasks, reporting to the Management team on progress and issues.
This role will involve gaining a detailed knowledge of both the Highways Agency National Roads
Telecommunications Service (NRTS) contract requirements and the network equipment that needs to be maintained. You will need to be able to participate in out of hour's stand-by rota and call-out system when required.
The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience of working on a motorways communications contract, with detailed knowledge of all network communications equipment either at a national or local level. You will also be required to have comprehensive knowledge of communications equipment throughout the motorways network.
Customer service is key to delivery as well as ensuring that QHSE regulations and procedures are followed at all times.
Although predominantly based in the North East Region, there may be a requirement from time to time to work in other Regions which may involve overnight stays.
