Night Shift Manager (Ex-Military Only)
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £17.50 p/h
Start Date:
Client and Role Overview:
Our client operates a medium sized energy-from-waste facility from their plant in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
The facility has been developed over the last few years and the team is now working to run the plant on a continuous commercial basis. (24hrs)
The plant runs the most up to date technology, turning a variety of waste feedstocks into a very high quality, clean synthetic gas which is then used as a fuel for a gas engine to produce electricity for export to the national grid.
The plant was the first to receive UK accreditation in the production of the clean gas and will act essentially as the pilot plant for the roll-out of the technology across the UK and ultimately around the world.
Our client is a keen supporter of ex-forces and to be considered for this role, you should have served in the British Armed Forces.
Opportunity:
This opportunity for expansion gives new recruits the ability to get in 'at the ground floor' with the prospect of rapid promotion as the company grows.
Our client is essentially a 'Gas Production Plant' and as such has to adhere to both high safety standards as well as a requirement to have the plant staffed by competent, able and diligent personnel.
It is essential that the plant is run by people working in a team, and where team members are willing and able to assist and work at all levels.
As this in the first time the plant will run in commercial operation, it must be recognised that early recruits will have to be of the right quality as they will have to work within existing systems and help in the design of new systems.
The Role:
The Night Shift Manager will have a full hand over from the overall plant manager at the start and end of each shift.
The role of the Night Shift Manager will be primarily office based, manning the bespoke IT system controlling the plant machinery. The Night Shift Manager will also be supervising the warehouse operatives who will be responsible for feeding the waste into the machinery
Full training will be provided on the computer systems.
The plant operates on a traffic light system, green - all running normally, amber - problem identified but the plant can keep running, red - indicates serious problem and the plant will automatically shut down, problems identified and escalated to the appropriate personnel
Hours:
For the first 3 weeks, the hours will be 37.5, thereafter; the working week will be 40 per week. Any hours accumulated after 40 will be classed as overtime, to be paid at a rate of time and a half Monday - Friday and weekends / bank holidays will be double time
The Candidate:
To be considered for the Shift Manager role you need to have the following qualities:
