THE ROLE
The Job Holder is directly responsible to the Training Manager -TTS Design and Development. The Courseware Design Specialist will lead a courseware development team of Instructional Designers and Specialist Subject Matter Experts. The job holder will work closely with the Curriculum Lead Technical and focus on developing training materials in accordance with the design requirements of the TTS.
The Job Holder will be a key member of the TSS Design and Development Team and will be required to assist in the management of change within the Technical Studies departments and support the effective transition from the current approach to technical training to the Future Training curriculum.

The job-holder will be accountable to the Training Manager -TTS Design and Development for the following:
WORK DIRECTION
The job-holder will take direction and support from Training Manager -TTS Design and Development in discharging the above responsibilities to satisfy project timescales and customer expectations.
DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY
The job-holder will be empowered via the appropriate functional delegation to make decisions as they relate to the construct, structure and organisation of future academic training material.
In this role, the post holder will be required to assess and confirm the technical and professional suitability of global best practice in academic training as it relates or applies to the RSAF's operational environment.
PLANNING / ORGANISING
The job-holder will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing his work in the Training Design and Development team. The position will require the job holder to prioritise tasks to be able to complete all work in the required timeframes.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS
The Job-holder although a member of the TTS Design and Development team, will work closely with TTS management and have extensive interaction with the Subject Matter Experts responsible for the courseware design and development.
The Job-holder although a member of the TTS Design and Development team, will work closely with TTS management and have extensive interaction with the Training Delivery Organisation, Management and Staff responsible for the training delivery.
The Job-holder although a member of the TTS Design and Development team, will work closely with TTS management and have extensive interaction with the Standards and Evaluation (STANEVAL) and Examinations.
REPORT PREPARATION
The Job-Holder will support the Training Manager -TTS Design and Development with the preparation of reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet departmental and organisational requirements, policies and standards.
